So after 3 exciting months in CR-I am heading by bus to Honduras! I will stop for a few days in Managua Nicaragua and tour Granada with some missionary friends and then get back on the road to Honduras.
Yesterday I sat down with my friends from Honduras to make all the arrangements! Brother Hagell served as a need greater in Honduras for 23 years so he was the perfect person to help me. He asked me what I wanted from my experience and this is what I came up with. I wanted 1. to serve with missionaries 2. serve in a congregation where sisters have unique privileges and 3. I wanted to try the English field. With the plans we’ve arranged I will get all three!
First, I will serve in Paradise! Literally-the town I will live in is called Paraiso. There I will serve with a fun young missionary couple. Then for the memorial month I will head to Olancho and serve with an isolated group. There are some special pioneer sisters there but no brothers-so the sister’s even conduct the WT. I can’t imagine what our memorial will be like! I won’t have internet in that area : ( but it’s worth that sacrifice. Then finally I will head up north to La Ceiba and take a ferry to the island of Roatan. Roatan is world famous for the coral reefs there. It brings people from all over the world and everyone on the island speaks English. So I will experience the English field in Honduras. I am so grateful to the Hagell’s for all their help.
In Honduras my buddy Eva who I met serving in Mexico will accompany me on this adventure. Also, my dear friend Brenda and her husband Stephen will also come join us for a couple of weeks. I am so excited about the company, the experience and the memorial.
This has been an exciting week as I am packing for Central America. I also went to Bethel to finalize my arrangements with the help of our Central American Bethelites! I ran into Luis and with the help of his family we will spend the second half of our trip in their little town. This mountain town is called Nandayure and we will only pay $30 each for rent. I am so excited to have both the beach and mountain experience.
Luis also told me that he is bringing many friends to our town in January. We will have visitors from both U.S. and Mexico Bethel including one of our Branch committee members from Mexico. We are going to rent a bus and tour the country together! January is going to be so much fun!
